Geminus Head Start collects much data for its federal and state reporting requirements. However, it resides in multiple systems that do not connect. They sought our help to create a customized board report and interactive dashboard that would connect their data systems for easier use with their staff. The Illinois Head Start Association faced the challenge of effectively showcasing the extensive reach of Head Start services across the state and highlighting the ongoing need for additional programming. Struggling to consolidate and present Program Information Report (PIR) data from each grantee for statewide and local analysis, they sought a solution. Engaging our 7-step dashboard creation process, we collaborated with them in the last quarter of 2022. By extracting data from the Head Start PIR, the U.S. Census, and the Illinois Department of Children and Families, we successfully crafted a new, customized state dashboard to address their need for comprehensive and insightful data representation.
