MOBILIZE COMMUNITIES, PARTNERS & SYSTEMS
Collective Impact
We support implementation of the five conditions that together lead to powerful results: a common agenda, shared measurement systems, mutually reinforcing activities, continuous communication, and backbone support organizations. We act as your backbone support and facilitate group discussions to move your mission forward. We assist with identifying key stakeholders to engage to work on identifying the issue, building community will and buy in from the key stakeholders, and reaching consensus on the action plan.
School-Community Partnerships
Does your community based organizations or school want to build partnerships to improve outcomes with children and families?? We have experience in working with all sectors from Pre-K, K-12, Higher Ed and Adult Ed. We help schools diversify and increase their funding by applying for public and private grants. We assist with strengthening school-community-family partnerships to improve student achievement. We help schools visualize their data in user-friendly reports and dashboard and also train staff on how to make meaning with their data. We facilitate feedback from key stakeholders by conducting surveys, interviews and focus groups with staff, parents, students and community partners. We conduct feasibility studies, identify grant opportunities, gather and analyze student and community data, facilitate stakeholder feedback, support implementation of new projects and more.
Public-Private Partnerships
We have experience of working both with government agencies at the local and state level as well as private sector organizations. We bring this knowledge and experience to facilitate advisory committees and task forces with public-private sector representation. We assist the committee with completing a needs assessment, develop a plan and structure for the committee, and staff the committee’s work.
Client Impact
When the new Governor- appointed Indiana Early Learning Advisory Committee (ELAC) was formed in 2013, we were asked to help structure and set up the Committee. ELAC adopted a collective impact framework to structure its work, and we have acted as the “backbone support” for ELAC. ELAC has assisted in understanding the state of early childhood education in Indiana, convened hundreds of diverse stakeholders in workgroups and annual summits, and assisted with the launch of state-funded pre-k. Our ELAC backbone support work includes:
-
- Facilitate and staff the committee and workgroups
- Assist with the annual needs assessment, which includes a report and interactive data dashboard
- Manage the ELAC website and communications
The Community Foundation of Wabash County called on our team in response to a funding opportunity aimed to help communities and partners collaborate better in order to improve outcomes for children and families. They wanted to focus on addressing substance abuse and its consequences for children, families, and communities. We partnered with them to accomplish the following:
-
- Convene a committee of diverse stakeholders across sectors
- Gather data to inform the need and “current state” in the community
- Facilitate consensus on the community’s health issue of greatest importance
- Develop an agreed upon plan of action for the grant proposal
