Indiana’s Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning (OECOSL) is now accepting applications for “On My Way Pre-K” preschool grants. The office is inviting high-quality early learning providers in Allen, Jackson, Lake, Marion and Vanderburgh counties to apply. Application requirements for providers and other necessary forms are available on OECOSL’s “On My Way Pre-K” website.
“On My Way Pre-K” is Indiana’s prekindergarten pilot program that increases access to high-quality early learning for low-income families who live in the pilot counties. The state-funded program awards grants to families with 4-year-olds who will begin kindergarten in their next year. The grants provide the opportunity for the 4-year-olds to attend high-quality prekindergarten programs and may be used at any provider approved by “On My Way Pre-K”.
While the state will be accepting applications during the entire pilot program, eligible providers are encouraged to submit their application as soon as possible. Grants will be awarded beginning in January 2015 for 4-year-olds starting kindergarten in Fall 2015. Information for families on how to apply for a grant will be available next week.
Check the eligibility requirements for providers in the Provider Information section of OECOSL’s website and access the application here.
