Lora Stephens is the Managing Director at Transform Consulting Group. She supervises staff, provides leadership on client projects, manages business development and supports overall strategic leadership for the company.
Prior to this role, Lora was a Project Consultant for more than five years helping organizations gather research to demonstrate the need for their programs, determine how to evaluate their impact, and use what they learn to drive progress. Her work has included nonprofits in early childhood education, homelessness intervention and prevention, and youth development.
She earned a Master of Science in Education from Bank Street College in New York City and holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Notre Dame. Lora has always been passionate about helping others. She volunteered in various settings throughout high school and college until becoming focused on education and improving the lives of children. After graduating college, Lora spent two years as a volunteer teacher at a New York City school that serves low-income families. While teaching middle school and working for a youth mentoring program in Evansville, IN, she became increasingly interested in improving programs and policy.
Before joining the Transform Consulting Group team, Lora was the Vanderburgh County project manager at 4C of Southern Indiana for On My Way Pre-K, Indiana’s state-funded pre-K program. She continued to learn about policy and program improvement while working on a feasibility study of using Pay for Success financing (or social impact bonds) to expand access for low-income children to Vanderburgh County’s pre-K programs.
Lora enjoys working at Transform Consulting Group because of the many opportunities to improve programs and positively impact the lives of children in diverse communities.
