AmazonSmile: You Shop, Amazon Gives

by | Dec 24, 2013

Amazon Smile LogoAmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way to support charitable organizations at no extra cost. Shopping at smile.amazon.com is the exact same shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to an eligible charitable organization. There are nearly one million 501(c)(3) organizations to choose from and tens of millions of products on AmazonSmile are eligible for donations. Participating products are marked as “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages.

If every Amazon customer took the simple step of signing up for Smile, they’d contribute over $400 million extra dollars to charity each year.  Along with many well-known national charities, there are several Central Indiana organizations participating in AmazonSmile, including: the Indianapolis Zoo, the Indianapolis Foundation, the Children’s Museum, Booth Tarkington Civic Theater, Indy Reads, and KIPP.  Organizations interested in receiving donations from AmazonSmile can learn more about program requirements and how to register. Complete AmazonSmile program details are here.
